Founded in November 2012, Happytat joined the LoveBristol family as one of their Stokes Croft social enterprises. The vision for the pre-loved furniture shop goes a lot deeper than furniture - it aims to support organisations working with vulnerable people across the city, whilst creating a culture of family and community, both in the shop and on the van.
Happytat has a dual strategy to contribute to the work done in tackling addiction, unemployment and homelessness in Bristol:
Happytat generates a fund through the sale of your very generous donations for the organisations linked below that are working to reduce addiction, homelessness and unemployment in Bristol. All funds raised by the shop go towards LoveBristol and Crisis Centre Ministries projects.
The second is to provide a safe place for people to volunteer and gain confidence whilst developing valuable life and employment skills. As of Summer 2014 we have positively impacted over 90 volunteers that have experienced probation, addiction, mental health issues, unemployment, and learning difficulties.
LoveBristol is a registered Christian charity that facilitates community and enterprise, focused on regeneration and the arts in Stokes Croft and Bristol.
